April

Beth Keeping, Kaity Rae

I had butterflies
You had tattoos
I wasn't looking til
I looked at you
I had a brand new backpack
You had mud on your shoes
From cities I'd not heard of
Til I fell for you

Swimming in the lake with stalactites
How you looked in the evening light
I'm not sure think you looked as I left the water
And we sat there just us in the middle of nowhere

We flew fast
Living in a movie montage
It's a pity how magic never lasts
'Cause looking back
I've never had an April like that

I had night train tickets
And the bottom bunk
Spent the whole ten hours
Dreaming about us
You had my last weekend
And my first summit view
We were up there so high
Couldn't come down from you

Sitting in the shade by railway tracks
Dancing close hoping you see me like that
I don't know if you still think about that moment
Street light glow how it felt when we both let go

We flew fast
Living in a movie montage
It's a pity how magic never lasts
'Cause looking back
I've never had an April like that

I've never heard the birds sing out all of my feelings
I've never seen the sun look so good on somebody
I've never lived a night that played out like in movies
Rolling on in flashbacks that dance on my ceiling

I've never heard the birds sing out all of my feelings
I've never seen the sun look so good on somebody
I've never known a silence so loud as you leaving
Or left behind the traces of you I'm still finding

We flew fast
Living in a movie montage
It's a pity how magic never lasts
'Cause looking back
I've never had an April like that
